Citizens bring cache to Wolverine Soldiers

AZ-ZAIDON, Iraq — A group of concerned citizens turned a cache of weapons over to Coalition Forces near az-Zaidon, Iraq, Aug. 12.
Soldiers of Troop A, 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., consolidated ordnance, consisting of eight 120mm mortar rounds, a 100mm artillery round, two 220-pound aircraft bombs, an 82mm mortar tube and a 23mm anti-aircraft artillery barrel.
The weapons and munitions were destroyed by explosive ordnance disposal in a controlled detonation.
